The Best Compliment

I love it when a client says,
“I’m sorry I haven’t been able to get to the rest of your suggestions. I’ve just gotten so busy with work since you were here…”
Healing after Heartache
April 22, 2008
A quick look around Cat’s home revealed two surprising clues about her current feelings of powerlessness and a lack of deep, meaningful relationships:
1. Yang features. High ceilings, angular and geometric patterns, bold artwork and large pieces of furniture dominated the space. These are more masculine features that in Cat’s situation were making her feminine side feel disempowered and lost.
2. Statuary. Gorgeous masks from her world travels and statuary of people engaged in joyous activity - like 4 musicians each happily playing their instrument – populated her home with loved memories. However, these “people” were engaged in their own activity; they weren’t engaged with each other!
What we did: We separated the big couch pieces that dominated the TV room, creating a more cozy place where eye contact was finally possible – eye contact between Cat and her guests, instead of the TV. We also “coupled” the statuary and faced them next to each other, slightly, just as two musicians would do if they were playing live on stage! Additional color choices and future furniture purchases were also discussed.
What happened: That night, Cat won the raffle at a social event and was invited to dinner by a friend. Not only did these equal the consultation fee, she completely enjoyed her deepening relationship with her new female friend and is planning a casual dinner party for the summertime!
Vacancy in the Front Room
April 10, 2008
The B House is beautifully appointed, well-kept and full of health and love. And, like most houses built in the mid 90’s, the room shapes and their intended usages aren’t always clear and easy to determine. Their front room was rarely used and with my Feng Shui eyes, I could see why. It’s long and narrow, with both a living room and a dining room, big, wide windows could see into the neighbors’ and the view from the front door went strait through to the back yard. They had “never” used the space. They were looking to maintain better vendor and client relationships resulting in higher profits from their home-based businesses.
What we did: We created an opportunity for the energy to pool, instead of rushing around out the windows and the back door. We turned the couch to face the front door and set up the chairs and the coffee table accordingly. The dining room table, set up for 6, was too big for the three of them, and coupled with the watchful eyes of the neighbors, they felt small and lonely in such a vast space. They removed the leaf and now eat there with guests.
What happened: Ms. B says that they sit in the front room “all the time now” and when guests drop by, they stay and chat. By activating their Living Room, which is located in their Helpful People and Travel area of their home, they have started attracting all sorts of Helpful People into their lives. More clients, higher sales and a general feeling of happiness!
La Petite Maison

H’s teeny, tiny one-room studio had to do everything for her – a place to sleep, a place to eat, a place to relax, a place to study AND a place to work! She had with her everything she loved, all those things that would support her in her upcoming success and nothing more… really, there is no room for anything extra to clutter this Maison!
What we did: We rearranged the bed so that she remained in the power position while creating more floor space. We also created a place for her new desk (the only purchase she had to make) that was also in the power position. She’s amazed that she can now sit 6 or more people comfortably in the space, when prior to her CE consultation, she said “3, max”.
What happened: What initially appeared to be a too-tiny space was transformed into a delicious respite from the world while supporting her in all phases of her busy day.
H says: “Becoming newly single and creating a new business, I needed a strong foundation to build upon.

“My foggy San Francisco house was dreery and energy was stuck in every corner. Liv Kellgren came into my home and gave my house a major energy boost! Her observations about how to get the energy flowing in my home was phenominal. She zeroed-in on the problem areas so I didn’t have to redecorate my entire house, had wonderful suggestions with powerful outcomes and was very sensitive to my budget constraints.
The most amazing transformation was made using almost all of my currently owend furniture and accessories.
At the time, my love life was on the rocks and with a few simple modifications to the bedroom, poof! things were on the upswing again. So the next year when my husband (!) and I moved in together, she feng shui’ed my new home, too. I enjoyed her work so much, and life has been awesome!”

“Liv and I created the most groovy studio. From start to finish – choosing paint colors, furniture shopping, furniture placement and all the final details – we had a great time. She had the talent, the creativity and the resources to make this space exactly what I wanted, and more. This is better than I could have ever imagined, and my clients love the space, too. The space is fantastic for me to create in – great energy for working with my art. Come on over and take a look for yourself! Every Third Thursday in the Cedros Design District is an open studio night when we offer snacks, wine and a showcase of our work. It’s always a party!
See you there!” – Kevin M. Connors
Feng Shui in the Classroom
January 27, 2008
Judy Leff was one of the San Diego County Teachers of the Year in 2006. Her classroom was already a great place to be and her students enjoyed being there. During our consultation, we discussed ways to
encourage more focus from her students, support her teaching style and allow for congruency between the topics of study and the energies already present in the space. With the help of a few students, we reorganized and redesigned the space just in time for the first day of school.
“I love the flow of this space. Everything just feels so much easier and smoother. The flow is very nice.” After learning about the energies inherent in the space, she moved a table of unruly students to a different area and their behavior immediately changed! They were able to sit still, pay attention to the lecture and stop disturbing other students around them.
Gold star for you, Ms. Leff!
